Here is a triptych poster I created for a made up video game pitch. The characters names are Thierot, Saryn, and Garruk which are in the made up game Luminary: And the Thousand Shards. When I have more time I will compose 3 separate posters for the characters. This took a looong time but I learned a lot. It will be printed 14 x 35 inches.

Death Spawn

I cant believe it took me so long to make a Spawn piece...but here it is! I've always loved Spawn, ever since my big brother Paul bought me my first Curse of the Spawn figure when I was probably in 3rd grade or so. I loved it and it got me into the comics and I've been a fan ever since. I obviously put my own spin on the character, but I had a lot of fun doing this, I hope this broke the shell for more Spawn pieces in the future.

Original character concept that I did start to finish today. I integrated all of what I have learned so far from doing all of my speed paintings into an original piece, and I HIGHLY recommend doing it for practice. I learned a great deal from doing just the five this past week or so and its really paying off already. Set aside 2 hours of your day (or even one) and just do it!

Also: This week I really realized what I need to start working on...and whatd I do? Started working on it. I believe everybody should be looking at their work critically and really see what they need to do if they want to be successful with their art - or anything for that matter. The first step in getting better with anything is first realizing what you need to do to get there! For example: the other day I realized I have no idea how to draw noses out of my head - so that afternoon I just sketched them for a few hours. Also I just studied many of my favorite artists, compared them to mine, and really started noticing huge things I needed to do to mature my work - mainly color schemes. Draw everyday! I'm in a 3D class too...

Our homework this weekend was to model Pixar's Luxo Lamp Jr. Just took a couple hours, but I am really satisfied with how much I've learned in Maya this semester. Oddly enough, it is all seeming to click now doing this lamp model as opposed to my 3D self portrait which you will never see..../disappears into mist

These are some sketches for the Antagonist in the fairy tale project that I just started. I am working with my two friends Zach and Ryan, and I got the opportunity to design the baddie. These are a combination of images that I have created messing around in Photoshop with blending modes and brush types to achieve an interesting and moody look.

WIP Midway Critique Please

These are the two pieces I am currently working on, and I am requesting a midway critique from anybody willing to give me their two cents. In the first one - the anatomical issues in the right arm will be fixed! I'm more specifically asking about color and if the light is too intense. I know especially in the first one there should be more colors added (perhaps oranges), but I would like to hear from everybody else if these are going in the right direction so far...
